Midnight Crash…

Time: 00:55,
A loud shrilled screech of burning rubber moving across metal alarms me from my trance-like-state which I achieved while searching for Leopard work-arounds/hacks for the PC on the Internet. I open the window facing the North-East to see people in an shocked, tense state running east-wards. I leap towards the other window which almost faces the east to see an expensive looking black sedan over turned next to broken metal fencing.
As some of you might know, I live on one of the busiest roads of Delhi. Even at this hour, the bulk of the traffic the road carries remains the same. Several accidents happen amongst the vehicles speeding along the six-lane highway. Many, I have seen myself. Although I missed this one, I didn’t miss the aftermath of it. I wouldn’t be sure of the cause of the crash, but I all can say is that no serious causalities occurred.
Police arrived within seconds of the incident and since I had my outdated, camera with vision just as bad as me just 42″ away, I could capture a few pics just to keep the event for the record. If you look at the second picture, I could see where the car has actually landed. It landed on the cow’s resting spot, i.e the green area between the crossings where we have pedestrian path and a small fast-food joint-çûm-restroom for cows (good utilization of space!). Perhaps the collision was with a BIG vehicle, like Delhi’s Bluelines, which could be a likely suspect. Perhaps all the drivers went together for a drinks part today in one of those!
God, seriously, I need to get a DSLR capable of shooting far out in the dark. ![]()
